CGG Awards Ovation Data Services

With a Three-Year, Worldwide, Preferred Provider Contract

HOUSTON, TX, October 5, 2004 – Ovation Data Services, Inc. (Ovation) today announced that it has been awarded a three-year, world-wide contract by Compagnie Générale de Géophysique (CGG) to be its preferred provider of selected tape transcription and tape asset management services.

The transcription and asset management services that Ovation (and its affiliates, including DPTS Limited) will provide for CGG include, but are not limited to: tape transcription services and systems, tape asset and management services, tape recovery services, scanning and digitizing software, and programming services for digital media applications. “We are proud that CGG has chosen us as their preferred provider for these services, and pleased that CGG will now be able to offer our (Ovation’s) services directly to their customers,” said Gregory Servos, President and COO of Ovation. “High-quality customer service has always been our priority, and we are confident that as CGG’s chosen preferred provider we will be able to continue to meet and exceed their expectations in providing these services.”

With the three-year, renewable contract, Ovation and its affiliates will provide these selected services to over 32 CGG branches and subsidiaries worldwide. “Among our on-going strategies at CGG are to continuously provide added value to our customers, as well as to improve our operational effectiveness,” said Derick Deaton, Executive Vice President of CGG Americas Inc. “Tactically, Ovation will be a great asset for both of those objectives.
