and data formats. ODS can also copy data produced by one system onto
different media that can be used by other compatible systems. This
flexibility makes information considerably more transportable and

Conversion
/ Translation / Backup / Restore
ODS is able to offer a
wide range of data and media format conversions and selected data
backup and restore programs. For example, if you have information
that was written by a mainframe system but needs to be read by a
PC-based system, ODS can provide the bridge.

Compaction
/ Migration / Preservation
ODS has the ability to
compact hundreds to thousands of tapes or any other media type, in
multiple formats, down to a more manageable data set media. Our
modern technology allows ODS to massively compact data, significantly
reducing your storage, retrieval and management costs. For example, we
can store or archive 4,000 of your 9-track (3420) tapes on a single
Sony DTF tape and still allow you access to the information in less
than a minute.
Should you have
information on a media that has become obsolete due to age, interface,
availability or systems upgrades, ODS can provide the bridge between
the old and the new. Without this bridge, such data may become
worthless and can even become a liability. However, before ODS
recommends any solution, we always review your specific needs and
requirements to make sure it is the best output media for you. (more
